Jon Voight (actor): My Concerns for America

We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.

Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.

The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.

The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam. Did they stop the war, or did they bring the war to those innocent people? In the end, they turned their backs on all the horror and suffering they helped create and walked away.

Those same leaders who were in the streets in the '60s are very powerful today in their work to bring down the Iraq war and to attack our president, and they have found their way into our schools. William Ayers is a good example of that.

Thank God, today, we have a strong generation of young soldiers who know exactly who they are and what they must do to protect our freedom and our democracy. And we have the leadership of Gen. David Petraeus, who has brought hope and stability to Iraq and prevented the terrorists from establishing a base in that country. Our soldiers are lifting us to an example of patriotism at a time when we've almost forgotten who we are and what is at stake.

If Mr. Obama had his way, he would have pulled our troops from Iraq years ago and initiated an unprecedented bloodbath, turning over that country to the barbarianism of our enemies. With what he has openly stated about his plans for our military, and his lack of understanding about the true nature of our enemies, there's not a cell in my body that can accept the idea that Mr. Obama can keep us safe from the terrorists around the world, and from Iran, which is making great strides toward getting the atomic bomb. And while a misleading portrait of Mr. Obama is being perpetrated by a media controlled by the Democrats, the Obama camp has sent out people to attack the greatness of Sen. John McCain, whose suffering and courage in a Hanoi prison camp is an American legend.

Gen. Wesley Clark, who himself has shame upon him, having been relieved of his command, has done their bidding and become a lying fool in his need to demean a fellow soldier and a true hero.

This is a perilous time, and more than ever, the world needs a united and strong America. If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way.

House members who signed petition to increase U.S. oil supply

U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland has challenged all 435 members of the House to sign a petition that reads "I will vote to increase U.S. oil production to lower gas prices for Americans."

"Hundreds of thousands of Americans have signed petitions calling on Congress to increase U.S. oil supply to bring down prices. When constituents started calling me to say they had signed, I wanted a way for all Americans to know where their member of Congress stands on this issue. I created a 'no-wiggle-room pledge' that reads 'I will vote to increase to U.S. oil production to lower gas prices for Americans.' It's simple and it gets to the heart of the real solution. Yes, we need to conserve; yes, we need to develop alternative energy sources. But right now, we still need traditional energy and I want to put members of the House on record: Are you for helping American businesses and American families with their energy costs or not?

"More than 65 percent of Americans support more traditional energy exploration in this country. I'm saying: Explore offshore, open up U.S. lands and build more refineries. I encourage people all over this country will call their member of the House and encourage them to sign the Westmoreland petition to increase oil production. The petition is on the floor of the House during votes. Every congressional district is listed and we update our web site, www.house.gov/westmoreland regularly with everyone who has signed it."

Vetting the First Ladies

by Paul Hallrah

Michelle Robinson Obama was born in Chicago in January 1964. Following graduation from high school she attended Princeton University where she majored in Sociology and African American Studies. In her senior thesis, titled "Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community,"' she asserted that America was a nation founded on "crime and hatred" and that white Americans were "ineradicably racist."

Moving on to Harvard Law School, she received her Juris Doctorate in 1988 and returned to Chicago. She joined the Sidley Austin law firm where, as part of her responsibilities, she was assigned to mentor a summer intern named Barack Hussein Obama, then a student at Harvard Law School.

After leaving the practice of law, she worked in Chicago city government, run by what has long been the most corrupt big-city Democratic machine in the country. She served as an assistant to Mayor Richard M. Daley and as Assistant Commissioner of Planning and Development.

In 1996, after working three years for a non-profit called Public Allies, and four years after marrying Barack Obama, she joined the University of Chicago as Associate Dean of Student Services, playing a major role in developing the university's Community Service Center. In 2002 she began working for the University of Chicago Hospitals, first as Executive Director of Community Affairs and later as Vice President for External Affairs.

When it comes to "bringing home the bacon," Hillary Clinton was a piker compared to Michelle Obama. When Bill Clinton became Governor of Arkansas the general counsel for Tyson's Foods, the state's largest employer, mentored Hillary in a cattle futures trading venture. Mrs. Clinton opened an account with $1,000, and over the next ten months she turned that modest sum into a $100,000 nest egg...selling short in a bull market.

When Michelle Obama was promoted from executive director to vice president in 2005 she received an annual pay increase of $195,050, from $121,910 to $316,960...just three months after her husband was sworn in as the junior senator from Illinois.

This, of course, is a young black woman who not only enjoys a million dollar annual income, who lives in a multi-million dollar home in Chicago, who attended the most expensive Ivy League schools, all on someone else's dollar, and who now concludes, according to a March 2008 interview in The New Yorker magazine that "...in America, in 2008, we're a country that is just downright mean, we are guided by fear..."

Cindy Hensley McCain was born in Phoenix, Arizona in May 1954. She attended the University of Southern California where she earned a B.A. in Education and an M.A. in Special Education.

After graduation she worked for ten years as a special education teacher, working with children afflicted with Down syndrome. However, having witnessed the substandard medical facilities on Truk Lagoon in the Pacific in 1984, she used part of her family's substantial wealth in 1988 to found the American Voluntary Medical Team (AVMT), a non-profit organization that sponsored trips for doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel to Third World countries. AVMT provided emergency medical care for disaster-stricken and war-torn countries such as Bangladesh, India, El Salvador, Iraq, Kuwait, Nicaragua, and Vietnam. Between 1988 and 1995, Mrs. McCain personally led fifty-five such missions.

While leading an AVMT mission at Mother Teresa's orphanage in Bangladesh in 1991, in the aftermath of that country's devastating cyclone, she found two infant girls who needed medical care that could only be provided in the United States. The girls were brought to the United States and the McCains subsequently adopted one of the girls, their fourth child, whom they named Bridget. They then coordinated the adoption of the other child by a family friend.

In 1989, following two spinal surgeries for ruptured discs, Cindy McCain became addicted to painkillers. And when her addiction was such that she was taking as many as twenty tablets a day, her parents staged an intervention. She entered a drug treatment facility and later received outpatient treatment. Her addiction lasted three years. Finally, in 1993, a hysterectomy brought an end to her chronic back pain.

In 2001, Mrs. McCain became active in Operation Smile, an organization that provides free surgery for children born with cleft lip and palate, taking teams of surgeons and other medical personnel to Morocco, Vietnam, and India.

In addition to serving as Chairman of Hensley & Company, one of the nation's largest Anheuser-Busch beer distributorships, she serves on the board of directors of Operation Smile, CARE, the HALO Trust, and several other charitable organizations. She has also participated in operations to locate and remove landmines in Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Mozambique, and Angola.

In November, the people will decide which of these two women will enter the White House as First Lady. Who will it be...the hate-filled, "ineradicably racist" Michelle Obama, who has been given educational and job opportunities that are available to few poor and middle class white people, but who continues to see whites as her enemy?

Will it be the Michelle Obama who wrote in her Princeton senior thesis that she will utilize all of her present and future resources to benefit the black community, first and foremost? Or will it be Cindy McCain, the classy lady from Arizona who spends so much of her time and resources serving mankind around the world...totally without regard for the color of their skin?

Talk of Wind Power is just that: Talk

In his commercials, T. Boone Pickens seems minted in Hollywood. He is the grizzled oilman who sagely tells the public that we can't drill our way out of this problem.

Wind power is part of the answer to the total energy picture, he said.

But here is what he told Newsweek about wind power: "There are no turbines on my ranch, because I think they are ugly."

Add Pickens to that list of  hypocrites - notably Walter Cronkite and the Kennedy family (Robert Kennedy Jr. is a major global warming alarmist) - who tell us we need alternative energy while opposing the installation of wind turbines near them.

If the world were in serious trouble, Pickens, Cronkite and the Kennedys would put windmills in their back yards.

But they know it is all snake oil, and they peddle it while luxuriating in their air-conditioned second and third homes along the beach. The only wind power they want is for their sailboats.

Al Gore continues to use 10 times the amount of energy his neighbors do at just one of his three homes, even as he tells us we must end the use of carbon-based fuel in 10 years.

Gore gallivants around the world leaving a carbon footprint the size of Poca everywhere he lands.

He sets such a wonderful example that I am thinking of following his lead by trading my Mustang in for a Hummer.

Obviously we are not producing enough carbon dioxide to sustain life on this planet. Carbon dioxide is a key to the photosynthesis process from which the food change is founded.

A few of us are rooting for the greenhouse effect.

History shows that times of warmth on Planet Earth are times when civilizations are established and flourished.

Times when the planet cools are referred to as the Dark Ages and the Ice Age.

Obama's Left-Wing Extremism

http://www.spectator.org/util/print.asp?art_id=13535
By Peter Ferrara
Barack Obama has proposed increasing every major Federal tax. He supports increasing individual income tax rates, allowing the Bush tax cuts, which cut rates for all income levels, to expire. He has proposed almost doubling the capital gains tax rate, from 15% today to 28%. He supports more than doubling the tax on dividends, from 15% to as high as 39%. He has proposed numerous corporate tax increases. He supports increasing the death tax back to the stratospheric levels that applied before President Bush. He supports increasing the payroll tax on higher income earners.

In other words, if you run a profitable small business, you can expect to be plundered by the Obamanistas from every angle. If you work for a small business, you can expect to be looking for another job.

Indeed, as economics writer Amity Shlaes has written, Obama promises exactly the same economic policy Herbert Hoover used to turn a downturn in 1929 into the Great Depression. In addition to proposing steep tax increases, particularly sharply increasing the marginal rates that most affect the economy, Obama won the nomination attacking free trade all primary season, even promising voters to renegotiate NAFTA. Is this what our wobbly economy needs right now? Will this really open new opportunities for working people, or shut the door in their faces?

But Obama needs those tax increases to finance his promised massive increases in government spending approaching a trillion dollars over four years. All projections show that America cannot afford all the entitlement promises it has already made, with Federal spending projected to almost double relative to the economy over the next 35 years. Obama just ignores this looming crisis, and, instead, promises to add the largest entitlement of all, national health insurance.

All of these nationalized health programs around the world start by promising free health care for everyone, but end up with rigid, stifling bureaucracies designed to deny care to control runaway costs. Our nation's health care problems can be solved without massive new government spending and control, and the deteriorating quality and freedom of choice in health care that inevitably involves. But instead of new and innovative ideas that would increase patient power and choice, Obama serves the Left that wants to use our health care problems as an excuse for more government power and control. Instead of the promise of a new unity and hope, Obama promises to take us back to the already failed ideas of the past.

BUT THIS IS ONLY the beginning. In legislation he has already introduced in Congress, Obama proposes a new global war on poverty financed by American taxpayers. The bill would commit the U.S. to the goal of the 2000 United Nations Millennium Summit to reduce world poverty by 2015. The head of this UN project has already called for a new global tax to finance this goal. For now, Obama's bill would increase U.S. foreign aid by $65 billion a year toward this end.

Obama also supports $60 billion over 10 years for a new National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank that would finance more construction and repair of highways, bridges and other infrastructure. No new thinking here either. The last Federal highway bill devoted close to $300 billion to the same thing. The Army Corps of Engineers spends over $10 billion a year for more of the same.

Obama also proposes $72 billion for increased Federal spending on education, even though Bush increased such spending more rapidly than any other area (and even though education is actually a state and local responsibility). He proposes to spend $150 billion to put people to work building new "green technologies" as if no one can find a job unless the government provides one. Then there is $60 billion for an "energy plan" that is another bureaucratic boondoggle that will not create any new energy. There is $14 billion in new spending for a national service plan. Obama proposes as well to increase "assistance to state and local governments so that they don't slash critical services like health care or education." He also says, "I'll double spending on quality after school programs."

Just last week he came up with a proposal for a second stimulus package to send everyone a check to help cover their energy costs, another giveaway of tens of billions at least. The first "stimulus" package proved only that these old-fashioned Keynesian handouts don't work. But Obama is not above pursuing the crassest vote buying payoffs pandering to those whose votes are for sale.

This is exemplified by his supposed tax cuts for workers, a series of tax credits that would mostly go to those who do not pay income taxes. He has proposed "a tax credit to low and middle income Americans that would cover ten percent of their mortgage interest payment every year." He also proposes an income tax credit for such voters of $4,000 per year for college expenses. Then there is another tax credit of $1,000 per year for working families that is apparently just a giveaway, like George McGovern's proposal in 1972 to send a $1,000 Federal check to everyone. On the Earned Income Tax Credit, which currently goes to lower income workers, Obama says, "I'll double the number of workers who receive it and triple the benefit for minimum wage workers."

But Republican tax policy over the past 30 years has already eliminated all income taxes on low income and working class voters, or the bottom 40% of income earners. The middle class, the middle 20% of income earners, now pays less than 5% of all income taxes. Under Obama's proposals, if there is no income tax liability for the tax credit to offset, the government sends the worker a check covering the full amount of the credit anyway. So these proposed tax credits are really a new form of tax welfare, in reality just new government spending programs disguised as tax cuts.

Real tax cuts reduce tax rates for those who are forced to pay them. Those rate reductions create real incentives that stimulate the economy. But a supposed tax credit that does not involve any reduction in any tax rate, and gives money to voters that they did not pay in income taxes, is just another welfare handout that does nothing to stimulate the economy. Obama proposes to spend over $300 billion on this new tax welfare.

OBAMA'S LEFT-WING EXTREMISM is not limited to economic policy, but extends to all areas across the board. He has said that as President he would appoint Supreme Court Justices like Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the former General Counsel of the American Civil Liberties Union, and David Souter, two of the ultraliberals on the current court. The Supreme Court is now in a delicate balance between four conservatives and four liberals, with one, Justice Kennedy, swinging back and forth. John McCain has said he would appoint Justices like solid conservatives John Roberts and Sam Alito. A majority of the current Justices are also over 70 years old. So the balance of the Supreme Court turns on this Presidential election.

Since the Great Depression, Americans have been free to choose unions through secret ballot elections under Federal law. But for 20 years now workers have been mostly rejecting predatory unions in those elections. So Obama supports a plan that would allow unions to bypass those elections, and claim worker representation on the basis of signed check cards. Given the long history of union violence, and the real danger of forged documents American workers will tragically lose their freedom of choice regarding unions if Obama becomes President.

Obama is the most pro-abortion major party Presidential nominee in history. When he served in the Illinois state legislature, he voted against legislation that would prevent abortionists from taking the life of a baby that remained alive out of the mother's womb after an attempted abortion. He has also opposed legislation prohibiting partial birth abortion, and favors government funding of abortion for lower income women. He said that if his own daughters became pregnant as teenagers, he would favor an abortion rather than "punishing them with a baby."

He has promised homosexual organizations that as President he would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) that pro-family organizations worked so hard to pass successfully when the Republicans controlled Congress. This law would shield states from being forced to recognize gay marriages mandated by courts in ultraliberal states. He opposes the initiative in California on the ballot this fall that would define marriage in that state as a union between a man and a woman. After he is elected, he will openly be the first pro-gay marriage President.

When asked what he thought about a proposal to make English the official language of America, he said he opposes it. He said instead that American children need to learn to speak Spanish. If he is elected President, that will be true.

OBAMA'S ULTRALIBERALISM GROWS out of deep roots in his life. He has said he worked as a community organizer in Chicago. In fact, he worked for the ultra-Left ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). ACORN grew out of the National Welfare Rights Organization of the 1960s, which argued that low income residents in the U.S. had a right to welfare, and demanding anything of them to qualify for public assistance violated that right.

Author Sol Stern wrote in the City Journal in 2003 regarding ACORN,
If you thought the New Left was dead in America, think again. Walk through just about any of the nation's inner cities, and you're likely to find an office of ACORN, bustling with young people working 12 hour days to "organize the poor" and bring about social change. The largest radical group in the country....It promotes a 1960s-bred agenda of anti-capitalism, central planning, victimology, and government handouts to the poor. As a result, not only does it harm the poor it claims to serve; it is also a serious threat to the urban future.

ACORN has fought for legislation restricting landlords from evicting non-paying tenants, watering down welfare reform, and seeking authority for cities to tax surrounding suburbs. It has sought to "unionize" workfare workers, welfare recipients required to work for their assistance under welfare reform, as if welfare recipients should be bargaining over the laws that apply to their assistance.

ACORN itself brags on its own website about its practice of "squatting." This involves breaking into unoccupied homes and apartments and settling low income families in them. ACORN states,
Noting that economic upheaval had forced many people to default on mortgages, ACORN sought to place needy people in the resulting vacant homes. This required the forceful and illegal (though logical and moral) seizing of the properties -- squatting.

Such is the respect for property rights of this quasi-communist organization that Obama chose to work for to advance his values. ACORN continues,
The personal needs of people without homes attracted many to advertisements ACORN placed in papers asking "Do you need a home?" The squatting campaign required a personal commitment to move into a vacant, usually poorly kept house and refit it for comfortable living. It also involved the risk of arrest if local authorities refused them the legal occupation of the home.

As for the local authorities, ACORN explains, "local officials were asked to subsidize the costs of squatting in an effort to improve the quality of life of the squatters and their neighbors."

But this is not the only illegal activity of the ACORN brown shirts. ACORN voter fraud has been documented in at least 14 states. Michelle Malkin recently reported in one of her columns,
Last July, ACORN settled the largest case of voter fraud in the history of Washington State. Seven ACORN workers had submitted nearly 2,000 bogus voter registration forms. According to case records, they flipped through phone books for names to use on the forms, including "Leon Spinks," "Frekkie Magoal" and "Fruto Boy Crispila." Three ACORN election hoaxers pleaded guilty in October. A King County prosecutor called ACORN's criminal sabotage "an act of vandalism upon the voter rolls."

Similarly, the Wall Street Journal recently reported on ACORN voter fraud in Ohio where crack cocaine was traded "for fraudulent registrations that included underage voters, dead voters and pillars of the community named Mary Poppins, Dick Tracy, and Jive Turkey."

Obama also sports now well-known ties with confessed Weather Underground terrorists William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, who admit to bombing the Pentagon, New York City police headquarters, and similar targets in the 1960s and 1970s. By coincidence, on the morning of September 11, 2001, the New York Times published an interview with Ayers in which he laments not succeeding with even more bombings for the far left Weather Underground, whose once notorious exploits are now obscured by the passage of time. Obama started his political career seeking out the support of Ayres and Dohrn as mentors, trying to establish his bona fides as a true left-winger. They have held fundraisers for Obama's campaigns over the years, and spoken for him in local campaigns in the past.

Of course, Obama's close association with Trinity United Church of Christ Reverend Jeremiah Wright is also well known. But what has been obscured is that the church, where Obama has been a member for 20 years providing thousands in contributions, advocates far left black liberation theology.

So the true picture of who Obama is should now be clear. His consistently extreme left policy positions are well grounded deep into his past, dating back even to the prep school Marxism of his youth. How could America allow this man to become President of the United States? Do we not take that position seriously anymore?

Open Letter to Voters of America

http://www.newmediajournal.us/staff/ellis/2008/07192008.htm

Lee Ellis

July 19, 2008

I don't care whether you are a Republican, Democrat or Independent; all I know is that you are an American in heart and mind, even though, you may be like me, born of mixed heritage from immigrant families who escaped foreign shores to build lives here in this new land. You are still a product of this great melting pot of Americanism. Yes, my skin is olive and I am now an old geezer left over from WWII, where I served in the South Pacific, but sometimes age combined with many life experiences wakes us up, having given us some knowledge of history and civics. With that possibility in mind, let's look at what is facing us in the future.

Now I also realize that some of you vote the Democrat or Republican ticket because your parents and grandparents always did. This is OK if the particular party has remained the same. But, perhaps it has not. Looking at each party, the Democrat party has been taken over by many Socialists, a few Marxists, and even two or more Islamic members. This new Democrat party even pushed out Joe Lieberman.

The GOP has also suffered. Some RINOS (Republicans in name only) I call them fence-straddlers --- people who can fall either way, left or right --- make up a part of today's Republican party. Let us not forget that President Ronald Reagan was a staunch Democrat and the head of a strong, now left-leaning union. When asked why he left that party, he said, "I didn't; it left me!" Thus, we need to look at these two main political parties and see where they currently stand in their philosophy of government.

Senator Obama, for example, has declared that he, if elected Commander-in-Chief, will want to get all our troops out of Iraq and move them to the "real war" in Afghanistan. I hate to tell him this, but while they did train there and also in Iraq, we are not currently waging war against any one nation. We do realize that no one country attacked our trade towers on 9/11, but, rather that this attack was originated by Islamic terrorist organizations from all over the Middle East! It had been put together and run at that time by Osama bin Laden. We doubt that he is still in charge as he had many independent chieftains in charge of groups in all Middle East countries with countless large cells in every country in the world, including here in the USA. Like the amoeba, these cells keep dividing and reproducing everywhere infecting others, not unlike the streptococcus bacteria that they now try emulate.

We are in Iraq in order to gain the intelligence we need to keep innocent Americans from another attack on our soil. That is and has been our only reason for being there! Looking at all the places we could have set up a major presence in the Middle East, Iraq was the only spot least costly in lives and money thanks to a corrupt despot who had sided with terrorism by donating money to it and who had also violated so many UN Resolutions.

By the way, we all, including Senator Obama, should remember that we did have human intelligence agents in the Middle East at one time until the Democrats stopped the CIA from using them! Between the Church committee, Jimmy Carter and later, Jamie Gorelick, former Deputy Attorney General of the US under Clinton, we had lost all our ability to keep informed of any potential enemy attacks by either human foreign agents or cooperation between the various police agencies in the US.

Senator Obama also keeps bringing up his old lie that John McCain wants to keep our troops in Iraq for a hundred years. You and I know that service non-combat troops have been stationed in Germany, Japan, Korea and other nations for years to maintain peace and help other nations in doing this. It was obvious that McCain was referring to this possibility in the Middle East after all conflict had ended.

Just as the new "Democrats" and a few RINOs allowed, through their ineptness, terrorists to secretly attack us, they also tried to keep us from monitoring overseas calls between al Qaeda and its cells residing here in America --- cells planning to kill our citizens. Fortunately the Republicans and some loyal Democrats joined to let the Bush administration continue this monitoring, although, thanks to all the publicity and leaks to the NYT, I suspect that the terrorists are now alert to this and are using different forms of communications with the suicide bombers they have planted inside the USA.

Now, Mr. Obama and his fellow Democrats have tried to keep us relying on foreign enemy oil while, at the same time, trying to drain our own reserves of this precious fuel. This could cause us to lose any future wars due to lack of such energy. Lowering our oil reserves in order to lower the cost of gasoline by a few cents is like going on a cruise without any life preservers in order to save a few dollars on the cost of the cruise tickets.

Again Bush has stepped up to start us drilling again. This should allow the futures market to lower the price of gasoline immediately once Congress agrees and acts! Even the very statement made by our President has already had speculators causing oil costs to drop several days in a row.

With Senator Chuck Schumer causing the run on the Indymac bank and Nancy Pelosi and her cohorts keeping us from drilling for our own local oil as well as wanting to take a share of the oil profits for the government instead of realizing that this money goes not to oil fat cats but rather to pensioners and other retired folk like teachers, blue-collar workers and other middle-class shareholders, shows the continued ineptness of the current majority party.

Really, after understanding how Senator Obama and the new Democrat Party which has been in control of Congress for the past two years has constantly aided and abetted our enemies with all these tactics, how could any American even think of voting for either Senator Barack Obama or a Democrat Congress again in November? If we think the economy is bad now, wait until 09 when Obama and crew, if elected, would raise taxes sky-high for their proposed government spending bills. If we think that the cost of living has been escalating, try living with double the cost of wheat, corn, or dairy products and higher energy prices while fewer jobs are available and our dollar is worth even less. Technically, our dollar bill which was worth 100 pennies is now worth only 60. If we continue this path, it is estimated by government sources that a financial collapse of either Medicare or Social Security could occur in 2041! Is this really what we want to leave for our children and grandchildren to inherit from us?

Stop voting for the personality of candidates; choose, instead as your decision-making reason, the philosophy of government that each candidate and his or her major party is proposing. By the same token, don't waste a vote on a minority party, as this can cause the major opposition to win as it did when Perot ran. How we and our kids fare in the future will depend on what we do in November! Help America remain a Republic under God, returning to our basis Constitution with its original amendments and the three separate wings of our government --- Executive, Legislative and Juridical

Mathematically Confirmed: No Global Warming - Sorry AlGore

Here's something unlikely to make the cover of Time. From the Science & Public Policy Institute:

WASHINGTON (7-15-08) — Mathematical proof that there is no "climate crisis" appears today in a major, peer-reviewed paper in Physics and Society, a learned journal of the 10,000-strong American Physical Society, SPPI reports.

Christopher Monckton, who once advised Margaret Thatcher, demonstrates via 30 equations that computer models used by the UN's climate panel (IPCC) were pre-programmed with overstated values for the three variables whose product is "climate sensitivity" (temperature increase in response to greenhouse-gas increase), resulting in a 500-2000% overstatement of CO2's effect on temperature in the IPCC's latest climate assessment report, published in 2007.

Climate Sensitivity Reconsidered [http://www.aps.org/units/fps/newsletters/200807/index.cfm] demonstrates that later this century a doubling of the concentration of CO2 compared with pre-industrial levels will increase global mean surface temperature not by the 6 °F predicted by the IPCC but, harmlessly, by little more than 1 °F.

The paper reveals the following:

• The IPCC's 2007 climate summary overstated CO2's impact on temperature by 500-2000%;
• CO2 enrichment will add little more than 1 °F (0.6 °C) to global mean surface temperature by 2100;
• Not one of the three key variables whose product is climate sensitivity can be measured directly;
• The IPCC's values for these key variables are taken from only four published papers, not 2,500;
• The IPCC's values for each of the three variables, and hence for climate sensitivity, are overstated;
• "Global warming" halted ten years ago, and surface temperature has been falling for seven years;

• Not one of the computer models relied upon by the IPCC predicted so long and rapid a cooling;
• The IPCC inserted a table into the scientists' draft, overstating the effect of ice-melt by 1000%;
• It was proved 50 years ago that predicting climate more than two weeks ahead is impossible;
• Mars, Jupiter, Neptune's largest moon, and Pluto warmed at the same time as Earth warmed;
• In the past 70 years the Sun was more active than at almost any other time in the past 11,400 years.

Someone had better get this news to Al Gore, since he won't be seeing it on TV. I'm sure he'll want to apologize for causing a lot of senseless hysteria over nothing.

Bush says "Drill, Drill, Drill" - Oil Drops $9

by Larry Kudlow

In a dramatic move yesterday President Bush removed the executive-branch moratorium on offshore drilling. Today, at a news conference, Bush repeated his new position, and slammed the Democratic Congress for not removing the congressional moratorium on the Outer Continental Shelf and elsewhere. Crude-oil futures for August delivery plunged $9.26, or 6.3 percent, almost immediately as Bush was speaking, bringing the barrel price down to $136.

Now isn't this interesting?

Democrats keep saying that it will take 10 years or longer to produce oil from the offshore areas. And they say that oil prices won't decline for at least that long. And they, along with Obama and McCain, bash so-called oil speculators. And today we had a real-world example as to why they are wrong. All of them. Reid, Pelosi, Obama, McCain — all of them.

Traders took a look at a feisty and aggressive George Bush and started selling the market well before a single new drop of oil has been lifted. What does this tell us? Well, if Congress moves to seal the deal, oil prices will probably keep on falling. That's the way traders work. They discount the future. Psychology and expectations can turn on a dime.

The congressional ban on offshore drilling expires September 30, so that becomes a key date. A new report from Wall Street research house Sanford C. Bernstein says that California actually could start producing new oil within one year if the moratorium were lifted. The California oil is under shallow water and already has been explored. Drilling platforms have been in place since before the moratorium. They're talking about 10 billion barrels worth off the coast of California.

There's also a "gang of 10" in the Senate, five Republicans and five Democrats, that is trying to work a compromise deal on lifting the moratorium. So it's possible a lot of action on this front could occur much sooner than people seem to think.

So I repeat: Drill, drill, drill. Deregulate, decontrol, and unleash the American energy industry. Those hated traders will then keep selling oil as the laws of supply and demand and free markets keep working.

Bravo for Bush. Bravo for the traders.

Where is John Wayne's America?

by Don Bendell

I grew up in Ohio watching and idolizing John Wayne and all the cowboy hero figures and dreamed of becoming an American cowboy. When I became an adult and a Green Beret serving in the Vietnam War, who was the one man who consistently and staunchly went against the grain and stood up for all my fellow vets and me in those days? Oddly enough, it was my old hero John Wayne who played a Green Beret in the movie of the same name. Have we actually progressed since those thrilling days of yesteryear, or have we regressed? We had enemies since 9-11 refer to our President as a "cowboy" or as "John Wayne," and they said it as a putdown. Then many liberal politicians and left-leaning media mimicked our enemies and tried to chastise him the same way. I moved to Colorado years ago to realize my childhood dream, and I am very proud to be a real American cowboy with a real horse. I too have had people try to put me down by saying I am a "John Wayne-type," because they were angered by my straight-talking editorials or speeches in the past. They actually felt that they were criticizing me, but I cannot tell you how complimented I felt by such a comparison.

For years, I have listened to liberals and many news media call George W. Bush a liar, a scoundrel, and many other vile names stating that he out and out lied about Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. Now, however, it has been not claimed or alleged, but very clearly proven and documented that over one million two-hundred thousand pounds of concentrated uranium called Yellowcake, and numerous devices to produce hundreds of nuclear bombs have just been discovered at Saddam Hussein's Tuwaitha nuclear complex only 12 miles south of Baghdad. These have recently been safely removed from Iraq and shipped to Canada for storage. This is not a hoped for conservative victory, or surmised claim by a right wing weblog, but a major news story by the Associated Press, who picked it up from a foreign newspaper who broke the story, not the ever-vigilant see-themselves-as-Woodward-and-Bernstein American press corps.

Why have you not heard about it as the lead story on any of the major news networks? Why have you not read about it on the front page of every paper in our nation? Also, why have we not heard any of the vociferous congressional leaders or liberal broadcasters publicly apologize to the President of the United States who they so loudly slandered the past five years with the entire world listening, especially our enemies while we are at war? Where is John Kerry now, John Murtha, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Obama, and all the other slanderers? Where are the apologies from the Hollywood elite who seem to feel they have all the answers for our nation, especially when they are plugging their latest movie releases or books?

George W. Bush has certainly had his warts, such as previously having bad-taste in selecting a Secretary of Defense. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were not originally prosecuted properly, but General Petraeus, like John Wayne, brought in the Cavalry and started "the Surge." Now, Iraq has done a complete turnaround and the war will be ended within one year. Not only is it winding down now significantly, the London Times this week declared the War in Iraq to essentially be over. Finally, doing it right, we have now started a do-over in Afghanistan, which will work this time. Have the liberals who wanted to cut and run apologized? No, they ignore the good news and still claim the sky is falling. I am sorry folks; I don't care what pollsters that libs are listening to, all citizens, especially warriors hate war and are tired of this one, but most Americans want us to win the war, not surrender. If you are a liberal who has only protested this war or maybe the Vietnam War, there is a big difference between you and me, a major difference. Like John Wayne's characters I was willing to risk my life for what I believed in, but you instead only risked a pair of flex cuffs or a water cannon for what you believed in. That was like me getting into the ring with Mike Tyson and you getting into a pillow fight with Elton John.

You liberals were all quick to pounce on the President, but why have you not been quick to apologize since he was proven to be correct? I will tell you why. John Wayne and men and women of his stripe are dead and gone, and our congressional leaders have generally morphed into a marble-floored building full of pencil-necked, panty-waist wimps. Political cowards who look to the flag pole first to see which way the wind is blowing before making a stand on anything. Their charismatic leader is a political chameleon, Barack Obama, who changes positions to match the voting trend environment faster than Britney Spears changes personalities.

George W. Bush has done a number of things wrong but at least he was a leader with some gumption, courage, and tenacity to stay the course. He stuck to his guns and now he has been proven right, and the critics are either too busy choking on the crow they had to eat or are simply moral cowards in regards to correcting or retracting their horrendous accusations about the resounding success of The Surge, and now about the discovery of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq, which President Bush tried to warn us about in his 2003 State of the Union address.

John McCain is running for President and yes, he has his faults, too. But he is not a carbon copy of GWB that Obama apologists would have you believe, and which insults the intelligence of thinking voters. However, one of the things that McCain does have in common with George W. Bush is that they each have a little bit of John Wayne in them. Some have branded McCain as a "maverick." That is exactly what we need now in our President more than ever. And no, Barack Obama is not another John F. Kennedy who created the Green Berets. John F. Kennedy was a great speaker, and like John McCain, was a war hero. Barack Obama is simply a great speaker, but the only courageous thing he has bragged about was repeatedly risking prison breaking the law by snorting cocaine and as he said it, "smoking reefer with his buddies."

John Wayne said, "A man ought to do what he thinks is right."

George W. Bush did just that, and he has been proven to be right. Senator McCain, to the frustration of both democrats and republicans at times, has shown that he has been willing to stand his ground on principle and not spin around in the political breezes that blow in every direction. Now more than ever, our nation needs political leaders like this man who have a little bit of "The Duke" in them. If not, there are gangs of outlaws just waiting in the shadows of the gulches and canyons of freedom who are watching for any sign of weakness so they can bushwhack us.

Most modern day political leaders and many self-described journalists need to rent some John Wayne movies and learn a lesson or two about standing their ground and not waving the white flag of cowardice. And they need to learn to become men or women of strong enough character to now apologize.

Democrat Senator calls for PERMANENT ban on offshore drilling.

Senator Menendez (D - New Jersey) is calling for a PERMANENT ban on offshore drilling.

Public confidence in the Democrat controlled congress just hit a historic low of 9%.

Are Dems shooting for ZERO before they give up and allow drilling for oil HERE and NOW?

Obama, Lost Without a Teleprompter

video
If you watch this video, you'll see what happens to Obama when his can't read a speech written by someone else on a teleprompter.

You will see why Obama refused to debate McCain in Town Hall type meetings where questions could be asked by the audience.

He's a mile wide and an inch deep. He can't think for himself. He can only read and repeat words written by others.
